FAQ
Common questions
Plain answers before you book.
What happens at my first visit?
You talk with your doctor about your history and how you train, then have an exam of how you move. Your doctor explains what was found, the options, the risks of each and what each would cost. Care starts that day only if you agree. Allow 45 to 60 minutes.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Like any treatment, it has risks. Many people feel sore for a day or so afterward. Rare serious risks exist, which your doctor explains before the first adjustment and before any neck adjustment. Tell your doctor about your health history, and you can ask to stop at any point.
Will an adjustment hurt?
Many people feel pressure and a quick movement, and some are sore afterward, a little like after a hard session. Tell your doctor how it feels. The technique can change, or we can stop.
How many visits will I need?
Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and goes over it with you. It depends on you and your goals, and it can change as you go. We do not promise a number of visits.
Do you take my insurance?
We bill most PPO plans and some others, and a plan may not pay for every service. The front desk checks your benefits before your first visit. How fees work explains the rest.
What if I do not use insurance?
You pay at the visit, and your doctor tells you what each part costs before it happens. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate, which we give you in writing in advance, and we can give you an itemized receipt to send to your plan.
Do I need x-rays?
Not at every visit. Your doctor takes x-rays only when medically necessary, and explains why before ordering any.
Can I bring my child or come while pregnant?
Please call the front desk first. Your doctor explains what care we offer for pregnancy or for children, and we make no promises about results for either.
What if I have already seen another provider?
Tell us. With your written permission we can ask for records, and we are glad to work alongside your physician, physical therapist or coach.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please call as early as you can to change or cancel a visit. Ask the front desk for the practice’s cancellation policy.
